Time to catch up...

Raining all day, so had to cancel plans to photograph a high school soccer tournament.  Bums me out because I love watching these games and getting action shots for the kids!

Riverfest 2009

Friday was a beautiful night - perfect for local band "Girl Repellant" to perform in the Iowa City ped mall to kick off this spring's RiverFest weekend.  Hanging out and enjoying these guys play while college kids, families, and Smiley wandered around, and some people danced a little, reminded me of why I love this town.  The atmosphere was the same for me as it was 28 years ago, when I first visited Iowa City.  It's a great mix of energy, calm, and creativity.  I don't how better to explain it.  Although some of my favorite businesses from the '80's have moved on (Buc's, Bushnell's Turtle, Things...), others have moved in, helping keep downtown Iowa City unique and special.
